What kind of horse? Where are you going to keep it? How much hay do you now produce ? What are you going to do with its waste? How many horses do you have room for? Do you have a long term care plan that includes your horse? There is a HORSE in it. HER HORSE.
God save me...... She loves animals, but a horse is a horse!
;-)
Exactly, a horse or horses are just like a boat. A boat is a hole in the water you pour money into whereas a horse or horses are holes in the barn or pasture you [our money into as well. We ought to know, my wife used to raise Percheron Draft horses and they are HUGE holes to pour money into. Now, I just grow and harvest alfalfa hay and sell it to horsey people and take their money and smile.Hay burners as we refer to them, female version of owning a boat.
Much the same here, and no regrets!Congratulations(?) to your Daughter... and, perhaps, to you.
They can be a very rewarding 'money pit'.
I'd be interested in her agisting arrangements/outfitting/training etc...
I ask this because, if it wasn't for my 'late in life' discovery of horses, and riding, I wouldn't have looked for (and bought) my present 6 acre property. Which led to my buying my tractor... which led to my being here on TBN... talking to you.![]()
