My Ride-on Tracked dumper

A shot of some 60 track plates I made up on the weekend. Also a shot of a track mock up I am using to shape my drive gears. This side will be contacting the ground. I have come to the realization that I need the gear teeth to come to a point to ensure the track will engage even with some debris in the tracks

That picture of all the cleats (track plates) is where I have to sit back, shake my head, and just say WOW. There is no way that I would make it through that stack without giving up and quiting. My hat is off to you sir for your perserverance to see it through to the end.:thumbsup:

Thanks. I have no choice, I gotta getter done. I want to build a tear drop trailer in a bad way and no room for two projects. I am using a weeks vacation later in Sept to kick this into hi gear. Other things keep popping up, like going deaf which I thought was due to the knobby tires on my truck, put some new car-like snow tires on this weekend and the howling is still there. Must be a wheel bearing going out. Glad I did not wait another week or two on that one.

David:

Those tracks look great. I'm with Cyril in admiring your perseverance in making that many.

Worked my but off the last couple of days to get a track on and see how things will fit. The track weights approx 150 lbs depending on how strong or weak I am this week. Its, if nothing else, going to look good on those tracks. I have a weeks vacation coming up so look for more progress in a couple weeks.

hello
David Devuono, you might want to be careful of those wheels.

LOOKNLEARN was right on with the wheels. I noticed one flexing when I was moving it around the driveway the other day. So now what do I do? I am looking at another 600-800 dollars to upgrade the wheel rim assembly. Having more time then money I am looking at making 20x (3/16 by 5in dia) discs and welding a 2" piece of 1 1/2 inch inside dia tube. Then slide this over the long side hub of the wheel assembly and bolt this on.
