My Ventrac dealer in the news tonight.

Mark Connel of Connel Power Equipment in Barboursville, WV was dragged and apparently run over by a thief escaping in a car from Mark's store with a new top end Stihl brush cutter. Mark was well enough for an interview, but had plenty of road rash. He said this is the third such theft and maybe same thief.

Stealing equipment is like stealing your horse.
And back then they knew how to treat horse thieves.

Some areas discovered that chopping off a hand cured thievery.
Not many one handed thieves out there.

This not being the first incident, a good video set-up was in place this time. They had clear video of the perp, his car, and Mark getting dragged through the mini mall parking area. Maybe I can get a link. Here Ya go!

I reckon so, but since I live up a holler and around a branch and then up on the high meadow, I tend to see the problem with these drug driven pawn shop aided crimes to be more of an urban thing. Barboursville is part of greater Huntington/Charleston corridor and the Detroit, Columbus drug sellers call the area Money-ton rather than Huntington. Heroin seems to be the big thing now.

Never ceases to amaze me how many criminals go back to the same place more than once. I guess it kind of makes sense in one way but not another.

A good whipping with little expense to the tax payer would be my first choice in punishment.

What a POS thug, not suprising though. .unfortunately you have to have your power equipment on locking racks like the landscapers have been doing for years...I doubt they will catch this guy, and the owner recovers quickly.

I think the culprit will be caught pretty quickly. A dark blue Mercury Marquis isn't exactly the most common car on the road now and this guy has probably met the authorities in the past.

The VT in the title line indicates VT, the state, not Ventrac. Maybe the OP could correct this, to reduce confusion.
Sorry to hear about the store owner, and the idiot who did the robbery.
A Stihl dealer here in VT was hit once, then put in CCTV, and they, same guys, drove into the front doors and stole $10,000 worth of chain saws and concrete cutting saws. They had license plates, etc., but police did nothing because the registered truck owner wouldn't press charges/be involved.
ALL these idiots need the chair! Any low skill electricians available to wire 'sparky'?
