I am replacing an old floodlight setup on the side of my house with a bigger LED light. The problem is after removing the old fixture, I realized the wires coming from the house are not long enough to reach into the new fixture. I was thinking of putting a junction box where the old light was and running wires from there to the new light.

Any better ideas out there?

Thanks
Dave

How does the new fixture mount? Can you mount it to an exterior utility box? Then you can just add some short pigtails.

If you can't make them work because of their length just splice them with some end to end connectors or wire nuts.

If your going to use wire nut wrap them good with electric tape...3M.

Been accused of something else being too short but not lately. Once you reach 70, being too short is not important. So long as it clears your zipper, all is good.

But if you shake it more than twice, you're playin' with it...

Me...I'd just use same gauge solid copper wire, scrape those clean, make a western union splice, flux and solder. Same black, white, bare copper & double heat shrink white & black.
