NEED A BETTER DIGITAL CAMERA

took these pics tonight with the digital camera. mind u now this is hand held, with no manual controls avalible. which leads me to the subject of this post. these are pics of the moon eclipse. could have used more zoom, manual focus, and slower shutter speed. thinking of the olympus C750. well here is the pic anyhow. 1st is about 1/2 eclipse

I took this photo tonight at 7:58 PM (EST) with a Canon S400, with optical zoom (3X) all the way out. Then used image processing software (Adobe Photoshop) to blow up and crop. I really like this camera. It's compact yet functional, and easy to take with you anywhere.

Thanks. Its an Olympus UZ2100 (10x optical) plus a 2x teleconverter.

Mike, awesome job! I spent the eclipse trying to shoot thru the eyepiece of my Meade ETX125 with the CFO's Canon - no luck... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif - Should have just grabbed the Nikon... I like the fact that you even caught a couple of stars in the shot...very nice!

Do you consider yourself a photographer? I used to shoot semi-professionally and am trying to figure out astrophotography. I have a Nikon D1 I'm trying to attach to the ETX125 - someday I'll figure it out!

Speaking of cameras, I shot this with the Sony DSC-F717 the CFO got me for Christmas last year. It's a pretty nice camera for just about everything - I read all the reviews at the time, and it was one of the better reviewed cameras.
