Tractor
Mitsubishi Suzue, JD4440, JD8200
I was recently give a small Mitsubishi tractor by a friend of mine that moved into town. It's a good running little machine with a nice front loader. My problem is I'm having a hard time figuring out what exactly it is. It is Ford blue in color MFWD, has Mitsubishi stickers on the hood, Suzue on the upper center grille with some foreign letters followed by the number 62 on the lower left grille. I have yet to find a data plate on the frame anywhere denoting a model or serial number. I did find the remnants of a long gone sticker on the front left hand frame rail under the battery box, but it is completely gone except the adhesive. The engine is marked K3D 0.979L on the right hand side near the injector pump housing. I am needing to replace the steering box and column, as well as try to install some type of three point hitch. I would also like to find any service literature on it as far as tune up, fluids, etc. Any help you guys could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Clayton

Your machine is probably closest to the CaseIH 245 and Mitsubishi/ Kumiai MTE1800D The sheet metal is a little different that those models but they appear the same size and also used the K3D engine. I use the I&T service manual for Mitsubishi MT180-MT300 for my MTE2000d and have yet to find anything that wasn't covered and applicable to my tractor.

How are you making out with the ID.
You can check the right side of the transmission for a serial number. My MT160d starts with m16.
Also, as per another link on this site (I think thius is were I saw it) The tractor is not marked with a manufacture date but the rims are. My rims are original and were made in 83.
Hope that helps.

Suzue was bought by Mitsu in 1985 or 1986. They were imported as Suzue for a while prior to that by a guy in Oregon or Washington and sold as new USA market tractors, not as grey-markets. Some had the PTO that spun the wrong direction. Neat little tractors for light use. Some parts are still available, but if you are gentle you hope not to need many parts. All of this is from memory, so beware it may not be totally correct.

The K3D was used in the M1803 (US model) & the M2001 (Japanes model). They both have a fine spline pto shaft. I know the M2001 pto runs backwards. I can supply parts & rebuild steering boxes.
