Need help on a Long 360 power steering

I am purchasing a Long 360 that the power steering doesnt work on. Can you tell me how it works and how to determine why it doesnt work?

This is an LS model . Can not be too serious,possibly low fluid, or at worse a bad pump. According to the specs I have reading right off of them it has a hydrostatic system,with 2 pumps. One is the implement pump at 8.1 gpm and the steering pump is 4.1 gpm. I am not sure if it is a gear or belt drive. Either way it could be something simple. Like I said earlier the worst it could be would be a bad pump. Any Montana or LS dealer should be able to help you.

Is this tractor a Romanian Long 360 or a Long Landtrac 360 made in S. Korea? They had both.

No you did not. This is what tractorsbynet is all about and why this is such a great site. Alot of input from people that have been there. Wampum hit the nail on the head in the above post. I can add a little more. The suction pipe feeds oil to both power steering and hydraulic pumps, that feed 3 pt. hitch and remotes. If they work, than oil is getting to the area of the pump. The next steps are alittle more complex and very dangerous to the layman. The system may have to be flow rated to continue troubleshooting. Quality dealers have special equipment to do this safely. You could start replacing parts, but this may not prove cost effective. This problem is rare to these units. I had one steering orbital fail on a new tractor, but nothing else. Wish I could add more.
