Hi All,

Relative newly when it comes to hydraulic hoses, though I have some basic understanding and a little bit of experience with hydraulics on other machinery. I have a Kubota B4672 backhoe that I'm trying to get running, and could use a little help to ID some of the fittings so that I can get replacements. I know the easiest thing to do is to go to local place with hoses in hand and ask them to make new ones, but the local guys are charging an arm and a leg, so trying to figure out what I need to do in order to get hoses online.

I have a hose that is listed as part 70050-01641, Hose, 3/8 100R7 x 24" long. It connects to a 3/8NPSM swivel on both ends. Are NPT male threaded hoses compatible with NPSM swivel fittings?

NPSM (National Pipe Straight Mechanical) are female swivel fittings with a straight thread and a 30° cone to form a mechanical seal with NPTF pipe male .
Thanks! I had not encountered these before, and wanted to confirm that this was correct before I bought the wrong parts! Probably have more questions about this stuff before I get it all back together.

There are a crazy number of types and sizes when it comes to hydraulic fittings and threads. It's a labyrinth of threads and acronyms. Not easy to find the right one the first time.

next question on this stuff:

Are the o-rings on the MOR/SAE/ORB fittings all a standard size for a given size fitting? I don't see replacement -orings for sale with these fittings, and assume there is a list out there that I haven't found yet.

Most on this backhoe are 3/4-16 MOR fittings. one is 1-1/16 MOR, and one 1-5/8" MOR.

I was going to post the Discount Hydraulics thread guide, but WranglerX beat me to it. And no 2 ways about it, hydraulic stuff is very expensive... Also Surplus Center has a lot of useful info as well.

discount hydraulics seems like the best deal around, so long as you can figure out what you need!

IF you think your leak is from bad "O" ring, gently remove it and take it to quality auto parts and get into their "O" ring assortment and do stare and compare.... Found that my Safeway brand QD's on my MF GC1715 use standard sizes....

Also Surplus Center seems to be good source for hydraulic stuff....

Too many choices, and I always seemed to pick the wrong one online. Kubota loaders seem to be the worst. Take it to the local guy (NAPA is great, for me here), wait 15 minutes, and pay a bit more, take it home, put it one and continue on with your day...
