I am in Shelby county and planning on buying a Mahendra in the winter, around Christmas to be exact.

I live on 5.5 acres, wooded, hilly, and afew gullys ( to be fixed later) I at first was interested on a 3016 but am now leaning toward a 3616 with cab. I am 23, will be 24 when I make the purchase, I am the owner of the land ( my house is also on the 5.5 acres. I am looking at the purchase as a long term investment/ tool. As of now I think I would be ok with the hp of a 3016 but don't want to limit myself down the road. I priced a 3616 shuttle at 17,000 or so and a 3616 with can at 25,000 or so. I think the heat: air and cabin would be worth the extra money. I have bad allergies and it would help some I figure.....

I would like help with y'all on several things.....

1, is buying a tractor like a car, you try and haggle them down?

2, what is my best place to get the best price in my area ( TN, MS, AR)

3, the 3016 does not come with a cab option correct?

Here is part of my land. Just ha a Dozer clean 10 hours worth of it....

Before

After

image-69401743.jpg

As you can see I have a lot of trees and will mostly be bushoging, and cleaning the property line and fencing it.

I still have a lot behind all this that hasn't been dozed and will eventually.

The 3616 may be overkill, but I don't want to be limited, and if I am gonna get a 3616, I might as well get some AC/ heat, and a radio......

I also plan on doing some side bushog work for extra cash here and there.

Sure it is OK to haggle. I do not know much about the prices though, I bought a LS U5030C for about the same money in March of this year. It is 58hp with fel and a/c and heat, I love it so far! good luck Tim

Thanks, I just saw where another member got a 3616 with cab and some other stuff out the door for 23,500. Out the door, that way better than my price.

Don't forget to go up to the tipton county line and see the dealer..Haggleing is best when nobody else is shopping? you said Dec., that is good as you might beat the new years price increases..But then Jan and feb. is when money is usually tighter??.But there are not many dealers to visit for this brand....try to look at as many, as you can so it will be satisfying when you do buy..

I just bought a 3616 shuttle cab with loaded tires and a hay spear for $23,500 OTD including taxes. It had been on the lot for some time but I feel like I got a great deal. So far no regrets as I was really torn between a 3616 cab and a 4035.

The 3016 isn't available in a cab I was told.

I think this is a complement. Lol so thanks. I am 24 years old, 6 years into my profession, 3 years in a small agency, 3 years in a really large agency. Am buying my house, have 1 credit card that I am fixing to pay off and in November I plan on putting about half down on a tractor....

After some hard, hard, did I say HARD thinking I think I am gonna drop the cab idea and go with just a 3616 with FEL. I think in the long run I will be better off without a cab for several reasons. If I need to reach back to adjust something on the 3pt I can without getting off the tractor, I can communicate with anyone around me with no issues or barriers. I won't half to worry about catching the cab on a tree and greasing some glass. And I think I can get a good 50% down on just a 3616 with FEL, 5' bush hog with slip clutches , maby a box blade and a 18' trailer. Thinking around 20g for it all.

Let me know if you pull that one off! That would be one heck of a deal. But you're making a great choice. If I can get a 3616HST, FEL, 5' BB, for $ 20k, I'm pullin the trigger!

Thats a great deal. My best price on just the tractor/ loader has been $18,100+tax. And thats cash price.
I'd jump on that, as there has been a price increase on any new stock. Now that is the HST also.

9.25. I am going to talk to them and see what I can do. May just half to pay it.

I do know that they said if I put 10g down and financed through them for 84 months my note would be 174.00 a month, that's the 3616, FEL, bush hog and 18' trailer.

Is 1,550 a good price for a wood bottom 18' trailer with breaks?

Ya, the trailer it's self is $1,550. The bush hog is a 5' with slip clutch at $900 and the tractor was around 17g I think.

I am gonna go up there tomorrow and look around.

I know little about Mahindra tractors, but for my comments it won't matter.

Seriously consider purchasing used! Especially since you have the time to look around. I recently purchased a 2006 Kubota L5030 GST 4wd with FEL and brush hog for $18k. It had 360 hours, and is a 50 HP machine. New that tractor would have been in the lower $30's.

I did borrow some money for it. Found a local bank that served the ag community and they wrote an agricultural loan for the tractor purchase.

I know I know, new is cool, new has a warranty, new is shiny and smells good. New really sucks when you put 50 hours on it and realize those 50 hours lost you 10% of its value in depreciation. New sucks when you start getting scratches on it. Etc etc.

Another thing to consider, at some point in a used tractors life...depreciation is pretty much over - or at least has slowed way down. Meaning if a ten year old tractor with 1200 hours is worth x; that same tractor 5 years later and 1800 hours is worth maybe x less 10%. Of course every tractor situation is different - the above is a fictitious example.

Food for thought, and don't blame you if you have your heart set on new. Good luck!!

I actually Got a pm from a member near by selling a 38hp bobcat tractor. I would have been interested if it had been a mahendra because I have a dealer 20 min from my house, I would half to drive a hour to a bobcat dealer. I know that shouldn't be a deal breaker and really wasn't. I just like the mahendra brand, all I have heard about them, my uncles 2 he has and afew other friends have them. None have had any issues.

just left the dealer. the 18' trailer was without breaks so I am gonna pass for now. Dont half to have it. I got friends that will let me use there trailer.

I got a price today, using there financing.

3616 shuttle with FEL = 18,600.00
AMC slip clutch rotary cutter = 900.00

subtotal= 19,500
tn sales tax= 1,401.00
TOTAL= 20,901.00

so if i finance for 84 months at 4.25% interest with 10,000 down my payment will be 154.01 a month

anybody have any idea what insurance would be on one through mahendra?

Kubota insurance for the above is approx $250/ yr. I could go look up the exact quote (based on value covered) but it will be close to $250.

You might want to look at a 20' trailer. If you plan on hauling an extra piece of equipment. My 3016 w/fel and box blade is 16' long.

Priciate that! I was worried that a 16 or 18' may be too short!
