Need to drill a hole...

Thanks for the reply, Steve. Since I have several 5/8" drill bits, I have never thought to try a hole saw at that diameter. Next time...

I like that idea of blowing the chips away. Will try that too.

I have the 90 degree Milwaukee too. I like my old Milwaukee stuff, but was really bummed out when my favorite Milwaukee battery drill motor crapped out with worn out brushes and found they were non-replaceable. I don't mind buying old junk, but I hate buying new junk.

I have large twist drills to 1 1/4" too, but considering that a hole saw cuts a slug (core) it is easier to use and has to cut less metal. Good enough for plow bolts and the like.

I have a couple of large boxes of Porter Cable and Milwaukee tools I need to fix or throw away. The corded tools (all commercial rated quality) I would like to take the time to fix. The cordless stuff I will problably throw away.

HiTechTed,
If you still haven't drilled it, bring it over to my house and I will bore it on the Mill. No charge.
(course the gas getting here is on you, lol)
