Wanting to build a new barn/shed.. There is already an existing pole barn in place that I plan to connect it too. I would like to do a metal shed but my wife wants to do the outside in wood for aesthetic reasons as you can see it from the house.. What is everyones opinions on this.. I have 4 nice logs that I was planning on sawing up to bat and board the outside but I am now leaning towards a metal wall..

I'd go wood if i had the means to do so. I love the look of the barn siding.

Split the difference and do wood on the side(s) that face the house & metal on the others?

Personally I love the look of wood but unless you have the land to clear & saw your own lumber - wood ain't cheap.

I love the look of wood, but hate the maintenance required to have it here in the South. For me, it's painted Hardie Board. You can do board and batton, or lap siding with really nice results.

Either you choose wood or metal you will eventually have to do some maintenance. I have built metal construction with wooden walls. Yes you have to paint it every 10 years but its not that much of a work.
