Ok guys, I need some help please. I previously owned a BX2200. Sold it a couple years ago. Missed it terribly. Wife let me buy a new BX25 yesterday. Put about 4 hours on it today mowing and digging up ugly bushes with the backhoe. Worked great! Wife road it around the drive way and said if she had known it was this much fun she would have bought me one long ago!=0). Any, I went to put it in the garage tonight, she started right up, I picked up the bucket, and as soon as I touch the HST, it kills the engine. Forward and backward. Starts right back up again perfectly though. I have moved the seat several times between running the backhoe and moving the tractor. Is there some seat switch I haven't engaged properly or something? Didn't have this problem any other time I moved the seat. What stupid thing am I missing? Thanks for help in advance.

There is a seat switch that will kill the motor when the HST pedal is pushed with no weight on the seat. Maybe your connector under the seat came loose.

BX25's sure are nice. I would start with all the basics. Check your fluids, battery connections, pto switch, and seat--making sure it's down. To me, it sounds like your brake may be on. Whenever I get off the tractor, I always double tap my brake before I idle up the motor.
I'm curious how you resolve this problem.

Maybe a little more clarification is needed. Brake is off. Just the slightest touch of the HST starts to stall the engine. But if I let off the HST, it keeps idling. I'll check under the seat. The ole girl might be lonely in the dark tonight if I can't figure it out.

The brake shouldn't matter. I can drive mine while the brakes are locked in park. But if there is no weight on the seat when the Hydro pedal is pushed the motor will die immediately. The seat switch is a good safety feature and it is unforgiving.
Ok, this did it. When I had turned the seat back around so I could drive it to the garage, I didn't turn it quite far enough. I went out with the flash light and looked under the seat. It wouldn't go down far enough to push in the safety switches. I literally only turned the seat about 1/4 of an inch further and then two piece of the seat frame bypassed each other allowing the seat to drop down , lock in place, and hit the switches. I drove it to the garage with great relief. Thanks and sorry for panicking so quickly.

No apology needed for panicking. If I bought a brand new tractor and and it quit working after four hours I would have been a little upset also.

I've owned a few different Kubotas and some have went forward fine with the brake still locked down and some have not but I've never owned any that would die with the emergency brake on. Always hated the ones that would go with the brake locked and really appreciated the ones that wouldn't. I think my BX2660 and BX25 wouldn't go with the brake on and not sure about my B7800 since it was so long ago. Any way, glad you found the problem. I usually did not turn my seat on my BX25 when I did BH work. Just turned upper body in my seat or got on my knees.
