Going through the new member formalities. Ive read countless threads on here over the years and decided to finally create an account. I bought a mahindra max 28xl a couple years ago when I was first learning what I did or did not need and was completely clueless on what to get. Although the mahindra was a strong little tractor I seemed to constantly have problems with it. The final straw was when I was grubbing an area to create a little metal target shooting range and I ran over some sticks and one of them ripped and cut a couple wires that disabled the tractor. I was surprised how exposed these wires were when I climbed under it to investigate. Since I now had a little experience under my belt I felt it was time to get something that dealt with some deficiencies I had noticed. Since all the implements I had acquired were 5' I wanted to stay with a tractor that was no bigger than that. I decided on the L3901 since it met the width requirement and it had the most HP for that width. I was a little disappointed in the loader specs but felt that it was good enough. I had the dealer install a 3rd function hydraulic on the loader since I have read countless pages praising a grapple. I think that I will now order the 50" grapple from EA. I went ahead and ordered the land pride 18 series rotary cutter. My dealer only stocked the 12 series but after reading some reviews / recommendation I requested they order me the 18 series. Im hard on equipment so I know I would tear the crap out of the 12 series. I will probably tear the crap out of the 18 but at least Ill know then that I need to go HD. Im a heavy equipment operator for the army reserves and should have probably gotten a skid steer but I liked the versatility of a tractor and Ive found that I enjoy putting out a garden each year (even though as a kid I hated working my parents garden). Right now Im just waiting on my dealer to finish installing my 3rd function and they are suppose to deliver it to me next monday. It sucks buying a new toy and waiting for it.
