I just left the Kubota dealership where I ordered a Landpride SGC0660 grapple. I also looked at a SGC1060 they had in stock which I may have bought on site except it was set up for SS quick attach but my tractor has the Kubota Quick Attach. While I liked the lower tine design of the SGC10, I didn't like the extra 150 pounds of weight for my FEL (meaning the loss of material handling capacity) nor the extra $500 asking price. Like always though, I'm second guessing after the fact. The SGC10 definately has a better design to the lower tines for root grubbing. My thinking at the time I was buying was that since I have a pretty well equipped metal working shop I can fab up some bolt on extensions for the tines. Opinions welcome.

I also didn't add a third function valve because I have 2 sets of rear remotes and I'm going to have the dealer make up some hoses with couplers at the front of the loader and use one rear remote to close the grapple. It will be a little awkward at first since th remote levers are on the right side, same as the FEL joystick but I think I can get the hang of it. Opinions again welcome.

Been looking at both of those models and was leaning towards the 1060 because of the rippers. Would like to see some pics of your setup and a review after some use.

I can tell you the tines on the 1060 would be worth it if the extra money isn't a problem and your tractor has the power to handle it. The main reason I went for the 0660 instead of the 1060 was the additional 150 somewhat pounds of the 1060. I thought that was significant enough of a difference for my B3300/LA504

I've only been using grapples for a year or so, so I'm certainly not a wealth of experience, but grapples with longer lower tines work really well for us.

We have one tractor with third function and one we run off rear remotes, I much prefer the third function. My next best option would be a diverter valve setup.

I don't know that the lower tines are much longer on the 1060, it's just that the 0660 has a reinforcing tube running across the tines that will limit the amount that the tines will penetrate the ground when you are trying to grub roots or something.

Have the o660 on a 2650, very handy. Longer tines or the cross support a little higher would be nice but still very usable

Looks like you are putting it to good use there mecan. I'm sure it will do what I need it to do. And like I said previously, I can always make an extension for the tines if necessary.

I have the 1072 on an L2501. The dealer recommended the width as I was thinking a 60" would be more appropriate. Picking logs up was annoying because of the short bottom tines until I learned to tilt it all the way forward and grab or pick them up.

In retrospect, the 1060 would have been a better choice for root grubbing. Moving 72" of tines through roots takes more weight than my tractor has at times however I'm very satisfied with the grapples performance.

Enjoy your new tool!
