2018 LS XG3140H TLB
Hello. I'm getting my new Ls xg3140h tomorrow, ive read that its better to run at higher rpms to prolong time between regens, what do you guys typically run them at for just normal operation, loader work, box blade work and backhoe,, i'm used to running my other tractors around 1800 -2000 rpms, because its quieter and less annoying, i did purchase some ear muffs so hopefully running it at higher rpm won't bother me to much, this regen thing will be new to me, i also read not to shut it off during regen and just to continue working and let it finish

I have an older model (3000 series) compared to the 3100 series you are considering. For 99% of the work I do I run at 2200-2400 RPM. My regen cycles come into play about every 5 hours compared to 50 hour cycles on the 31/4100 series. So far (4 plus years) I've never had a problem. In my opinion, which with $1.50 will get you a decent cup of coffee, keep the RPM's up, use good quality fuel and your tractor will treat you just fine.
I always check my dash lights about 10 minutes before I'm ready to park the tractor and if they are not lit I press the regen postpone function so it doesn't go into regen while I'm parking it. I've worked mine through many cycles before without problem.

I grew up on pre-emissions tractors where rpm's weren't an issue clogging up the exhaust. I found quickly that these new engines with the DPF need to run at least 2k to keep the DPF from clogging prematurely. My first regen was around 25 hours, and every subsequent regen has been between 40 and 50 hours. I haven't had any issues related to the regen and I don't notice it is doing so unless I look at the dash. As George says, run good fuel and keep the rpm's up, and you won't have any issues.

I think the hardest thing to get used to when I get my DPF equipped tractor is running the engine at high rpms when doing light work/driving it around. I would typically gear up and throttle down for light work or transport on an old school pre-DPF tractor.

4100-series here and FWIW, I run mine about the 2200 range most of the time when doing "work" with an occasional bump higher for the really heavy FEL lifts using forks. The only time I really notice a regen is when the little light comes on but that's a good amount of hours in between times. I think my first one was right around the 40 hour mark and my second was at 82 hour mark...

Enjoy the new tractor!!!

I run mine at 2500rpm when mowing, anything else is at least around 2000rpm. I had regen at 27hrs and again at 39hrs, I have put 46 hrs on my tractor in 6wks and have used about 5 tanks of fuel. Mowing with my 14ft side mower is a very slow process and at 2500rpm a tank of fuel last about 2.5-3hrs.

I try to keep my rpms around 2K for most work. With the hydro transmission I will sometimes bump it up due to load and hydraulic flow needs. My XR4150 regened at 49 hours and 102 hours without issue. Hope this helps and congrats on your new tractor!

I run mine between 1800 and 2200 for just general use.

I run mine like OverandOut says... 2000 RPM for general use and 2500 RPM for brush hog. I have 118 hrs on it now, with 3 regen cycles.
