Massey makes some slightly larger models that would be a better comparison to the Max, and they have very good quality.
BTW, the various brands are all over the place when it comes to comparing models. The Max, while classified as a subcompact by Mahindra, is closer in comparison to small compacts from the other brands. For example, the comparable Kubota would be a B2601 (small compact), not a BX (sub-compact). So don't be afraid to cross-shop different categories. In general, compare HP, size, capability, and cost.
You would really you would have to look at a B2650 vs the 2601 for comparable weight and capacity, but the 2650 is physically somewhat larger, a fine tractor, same goes for the GC1705, but it is a yard tractor SCUT with tiny tires. MF1526 Compact Tractor | Massey Ferguson is similar to the Max. Lift capacity is rated honestly at 500mm forward of pins so lift at pins should be 1100/1200 lbs.
If going for an HST in this size range, any tractor like the 1526 Massey or B Seines Kubota with 3 speed HST counts for a lot. My BIL has a newish 2620 HST Kubota, and it moves very nice, quiet, and smoothly.
Where the Max26 really shines is the nice 8 x 8 shuttle and the huge capacity of its 3 pt lift. I pushed some snow with a Max26 Cabbed HST 2 speed and meh, but the CAB was sweet!
