Just sharing some pictures of the renovation of our 1920's vintage barn. We were/are trying to keep the original character of the barn but found there was so much rot and voids under the old foundation that the entire ground floor had to be removed. My wife and I did a lot of the demolition ourselves but brought in a contractor to do the tricky demolition and get us going on the new.
The barn will be a true multi-purpose barn: party loft upstairs, small kitchen & bathroom on the south end and my shop on the north end. We will also attach a smaller shed for storing the tractor and some implements. The barn is small by today's standards (34'x20') but it will pack a punch hopefully when done.
We are in the process now of roughing-in the interior framing, replacing the second story walls, as well as roughing-in electrical and plumbing.
I have two questions for all the TBNrs.
1. What's your thought on electric on-demand hot water heaters? or should we go propane? (we don't have natural gas service).
2. What's the best pipe to use for in-the-wall compressed air lines; black pipe or copper . . . or does it matter for such short runs?
I will try to follow up with more pictures as we progress.
Thanks in advance for looking and any advice/info
