Yes, I learned pretty quick about turning with a load. Nothing like a good physics lesson on the weekends.

Cheers,

We on TBN refer to that as "The PT Pucker"....

Nothing like driving down a hill at full speed with a full load in the bucket, and a slight turn ends up in a nose dive....

One spring I was refurbing 4 ball diamonds at a little league park. I had to spread 60 yards of moon dust (granulated limestone) from a central pile onto all the diamonds. Full buckets in the large material buckets were getting pretty tippy with any turns. So I'd fill the bucket to overflowing and take off at 8mph in full reverse with the bucket 2" off the ground. By going in reverse, the bucket would just skid along on turns behind me and I'd never slow down. Kind of like wheelie bars. I was amaze how fast I spread that moon dust. I outworked a guy in a JD TBL!

Re: New PT-425 owner New Pictures

As promised. Here are some pictures of my new PT-425 engine compartment layout. Hope they come through. Sorry for the upside down engine pic.

Cheers,
Steve

As far as I can tell, that layout is identical to mine with exception of the muffler. I bought mine mid-April of this year. I wonder what the driving force was to move the muffler to the other side.

I would recommend closing that fuel shut-off valve if you are going to be leaving it for a while or at least checking the oil level before hopping on it (it wouldn't be an issue with the fuel level that low). I had issues with a square o-ring in the carb on mine from the getgo that progressively got worse that allowed fuel to bypass the float/needed and ended up flooding the crankcase when I forgot to shut the valve. Eventually it got to where it wouldn't even run. When I spoke to Terry about it, he left the impression they've seen the fuel bypass issue definitely more than once. Keep an eye out for it and there's another post on here what I did to fix it for like $6.

These machines are awesome and it sounds like you are enjoying Artie. Have the neighbors come sniffing around yet? These things seem to help you make new "buddies" real quick. My 425's name is Pedro and he was a neighbor magnet for quite a while.

Hi, You are right about it being a neighbor magnet. I already have a neighbor who might be willing to purchase the Brush cutter attachment if he can (have me) use it on his property. I’ll be making a new posting about this as i have a comparison question.

And anytime you have a $6 fix, please do share.

Thanks,
