I deer hunted one time with my 4570, Had 3 coyotes come in dogging a young buck, Shot one and it blew him in half, Quit using it after that. 308 is my fave for deer.
I used to hunt with a 4570 hand gun but mostly pigs with that, most of my deer have been with a little single shot 30/30.

I also have a few, however mine are set up as pistols. I do have a stash of butt stocks, but haven't gotten into the position where I would need to make rifles out of them yet. Most, but not all of the calibers I have, I also have matching long guns for them. One notable exception is a 357/44 Bain and Davis Contender, which is the only barrel I have that I have no other firearms that match it. Oh, and I recently had a barrel that came as 7mmTCU but someone had the chamber extended (sort of an Ackley modification) but I prefer not to have to fireform all my brass. I sent it out and had it re-chambered to 7-30 Waters. So that makes two I don't have matching guns for. I am considering purchase of 2 other firearms (MAYBE!!) and have them adapted to fire the B&D load. A Ruger in .357 and buying an additional cylinder for it and have a separate chamber bored out to fit the 44 brass, or a Lever action rifle in 44 and have a 357 barrel fitted to it. Most of the lever guns are getting expensive due to Winchester and Marlin not producing them nowadays. I don't want to ruin a relic, so would try to make either modification with the ability to go back to original. Either one will be a good chunk of change, but I really like that round. It goes bang with ZESTO!

I also have a "left hand" butt stock for a Contender, something I hope to never have a need for. (due to the loss of the use of my right hand!!) I have put it up for available on several forums, but no takers as of yet). So if you ever have someone sitting on the other side of your bench that likes a Contender, keep me in mind!

Most of mine started as pistols, then I started adding the rifle barrels and now I just have these three (45/410, 223, & 30/30 ). I'd like to get another 12 or 14 inch 30/30 barrel for a woods handgun, not sure why I got rid of the last one. I've a lever and a Tender rifle in 30/30 so It would go nicely. Speaking of matching guns I would love to get a Ruger 44 mag semi auto carbine to go with my Redhawk, that would be a nice pair. They also make a 500 S$W in a lever gun I would like o get to match my revolver but not real sure I would want to shoulder it and pull the trigger! o_O

I always thought a Ruger Carbine in 44 would be nice, but never ran across one in my price range. I did pick up a Winchester lever gun in 44 to go with my Ruger pistol, so that is probably as close as I will ever come. I have several rifle length barrels, just don't have the forends to fit them, most in .22. There seems to be some disconnect between barrels made by other suppliers and the forends I have accumulated. I think I have about 10 forends that are all different, and none of them fit my barrels. Just doesn't make sense. I have been told that there is only a couple different sizes, but I have proof that it isn't so! Maybe one day I will figure it out, lol!

I was thinking, if my shoulder won't take the recoil, my hands definitely don't want to pull the trigger on it!!
I don't own any 50 cal weapons, although I did purchase a set of plans for a Gunmetal Designs 50BMG bolt action. They said it could be done using manual machines, but in reality it needs CNC machines to do it right.
A good muzzle break will take the bite out of it!
Back to your project, have you done anything new with it?

Now my 50 cal is a 500 S$W not a 50 BMG.. huge difference. And my hand can definitely take more recoil than my shoulder, had a 45/70 TC pistol and its a piece of cake, but I shot a lever 45/70 a couple times and decided against getting one. I've had my shoulder, well both actually, redone and it no longer likes the recoil much. Even my 30/06 M70 is more than it likes which is why I opted to get my 6.5 CM Tikka, it will do everything my 30/06 will at distance and its less punishing. I tried to sell that 06 but everyone seemed to think I should just give it to them along with all my ammo! Aint happening!
My tower at this point is pretty well done now that I got the tin roof on, I do need to go spray some preservative on it just to keep the sun from eating it but I need to do that every couple years or so. Oh, but I did put a couple roll up shades on it to keep some of the heat out and I'll probably do the same on the upstairs windows as well.

Muzzle brakes, Magna Porting, all a good investment for any gun! I had the 7mmTCU rechambered to 7-30 Waters, which should have increased the recoil significantly. I had a muzzle brake added and the recoil is less than before!
