Hi gang

I'm heading to scope an 1850 with hopes of bringing it home.

I've got 2 42Xs so I'm familiar with the power trac... But also completely aware this is a different animal... I have run plenty of other Slope mowers so testing the tilt setup and performance I feel ok w...but input welcome.

I've checked out many threads and mods that you guys have shared... So thanks for that.

I'd appreciate any trouble areas to check for signs of doom, bad maintenance etc...

If it rides home w me, I anticipate doing maintenance like filters and cooler fin clean up etc... I have a filter cart to run the hydraulic oil through... But any gotcha things or wear/fatigue to look for please let me know... Really hoping not to drag a project home...

As always thanks for the helpful insights!

Stay tuned for a 42X(predator powered) for sale
Andrew

A lot to look at and then nothing. If it runs, moves and seems solid, well, its a PT and it doesn't get much better than that. Do you know what year? Does it have the hydraulic locking mechanism for implements? Hydraulic shuttle for forward and reverse? Is it a Deutz?

It comes down to how it was maintained, how many hours and what you are willing to pay for it.

Not sure of the year, waiting for a response from Tazewell. Yes hydraulic attach, deutz and treadle forward /rev... From pictures and history seems reasonably cared for. 4 new tires... Hours just under 1500.

I've got my ir thermometer and my experience fwiw... We'll see.

Well that would be a post 2001 model so depending on the price you can't miss. 1500 hours, you should get 3K or so at least with the Deutz. We do need a couple more 1850 owners on this site... .

Thanks for the responses.

Do you happen to know the flow (and psi if not 3200) of the loader cylinder circuit?

At the lift cylinders? Nope. Never seen that number. The PTO is 18GPM @3200. I would call Tazwell on that one, but please let us know your results.

Runs like a top....heading home with a heavy trailer!

Was a municipal unit now it's gonna be a very country unit... Closer to 1600 hrs and seems like maintenance was done by some body on the clock.

No obvious immediate needs... Other than a suspension seat!

Pics later this week. Honest.
