New tractor owner 9n ford

I just purchased a 1939 ford 9n It runs good has some small leaks one where the gas line goes into the carb. A leak at the rear of the tractor under neath where the 3 point hitch hooks on to the bottom of the tractro.

lot of oil and dirt on the inside of the rear wheels. but the old boy runs like a top. lift works good needs some tlc just checking the intrenet and fouind this site.

For any parts you need check Yesterdays Tractor web site. A buddy just got a 9N and I can't believe how availible and inexpensive the parts are.

Welcome to the site.

Those tractors are built to last, and are cheap and easy to work on.

For starters, I'd reccomend getting an IT shop manual for it. It basicaly covers how to work on everything on that tractor. And there are also pleanty of us on here who have experience working on/rebuilding/restoring thr old fords. So any questions you have, just ask and I am sure we can help.

The first manual is the one you will want. Part # FO-4. It will probabally be the best $25 you can spend on your new tractor:thumbsup:

thanks for all the responce I am almost as old as my tractor it is 3 years older than me We had a ford jublee when I was a kid. I grew up on a farm in Tennessee. And Have many memory's of the old ford. I found this one sitting in a friends yard for sale and Had to have I am not sure just how much I will get restored but It sure would be nice to go all the way with it. But I will have to take it slow.
I appreciate any informtion or suggestions pass on.

if the carb elbow is stripped or damaged it is about a 3$ replaceable part.

the 3pt lower mounting pins must be accessed from inside the trumpet.. but you can pull the left one brakes and axle and all and do it, then reach thru and do the other side.

lil gasket under each 3pt pin plate.. etc.
