NH TC45d compared to JD 3720 or 4120.

Well this is for friend of mine I told him I would do some research. he needs new tractor for his golf course. he will be using it for pulling gang mowers and snowblowing and dirt work with loader. he only has JD 750 now like 25 Hp. he wants something bigger but not too heavy. I know all about the TC45D and its size and i think thats about right so im trying to compare that to the other brands. The JD 4120 and the 3720 both have about the same hp but im not sure where the size comes in. Is the 3720 smaller then a TC45d? I think the 4120 is a little bigger but not sure about that either. The 4120 is about 3700lbs and the 3720 is about 2900lbs with no loaders according to their websites. Not sure about the weight of the TC45d I didnt have time to wait for acrobat reader for 5 minutes to pull the specs. Just trying to see which JD would be closest in size and weight and hp to the TC45d for now and then we can talk options. He wants hydro!

The 4120 would be a close match to the TC45. It's about the same power and almost exactly the same size (from looks anyway). I looked at the TC40/45 DA before we bought the JD. I remember the NH being about the same physical size.

I believe the 3720 has a smaller frame than the 4120 and TC45.

Two votes for the 4120! pz31g22 informed us how much he enjoys his green machine, and I'll do the same. It is an amazing tractor! Many posters claim this engine can be beefed up after warranty, and I suspect they're correct. The thought of tacking on 20 more horsepower is quite appealing. <font color="blue"> </font> The eHydro is amazing...

Right - I suspect it's all in the turbocharging. The 4x20 series all have the same exact base 4024T engine....so it must all be in the tuning somehow. I've got enough power though (43 hp)
