Noise on by BX2230

Since I'm a newbie in the tractor ownership area, I don't want to get all excited about little noises but I thought I would get you guy's opinion on this. When my Bx2230 runs at idle speed I hear a klunking noise which sounds like it comes from the center of the machine. If I had to guess maybe from a fan I see in front of the seat down under the tractor. As soon as I increase the rpms at all it goes away. I called my dealer who said diesels make noise when they run and I understand this. I hear the pattern noise as the engine runs but this is different. It is a rythmic noise on each revolution of something. So..what's everyones best guess?? By the way, everything on the tractor works great

I saw your earlier post with the picture of your baby. Nice looking outfit. This is my 1st winter with my BX22 and I love it. I always used a smaller Deere 318 with front blade so the back blade takes some getting used to. I don't hear a noise like that so it sounds like somethings up.

My BX-22 has a strange ticking sound that sounds like it comes from the transmission. I always noticed it when I was off the tractor, so one day, I decided to investigate. I found that as soon as I lifted the seat that it went away. Also, if I put something on the seat that would simulate a person it also went away. That is when I decide that I could live with it. Never figured out what caused it, but I don't care at this point. I still have 2 1/2 years on the warranty and if it is anything serious, I will find out by then... Probably just some loose nut like on the seat.... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Well, sad to say the Bx2230 went back to the dealer this afternoon /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif A service guy came out and listened to the machine run and thought it best to have it looked at. Still have the klunking noise at idle. He was not sure what it could be. I thought, heck I paid a lot of cash for this and it should be right. Too bad we are under another Winter storm warning tonight /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I will have to fire up the 5hp blower once again. Hopefully they won't have my tractor too long and they fix what ever it might be.
