They use a similar set up around here also...... the only thing is the noise level..... sounds like a big chopper...... the type that fly!!!!!!! .......

Frank, I looked twice at your picture thinking it might have been taken in front of my place in east Texas. Our county commissioner is in charge of road maintenance and this gadget is a Godsend. Otherwise we would all be out there with our Weedeaters. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

need alittle bit more than a weedeater to take down what he was cutting. he is supposed to be back tomrrow( ihope) for he is going to knock this down for me.

Townships must have their own TBN to share ideas. Our township and the one next to us have similar setups. Both use large NH tractors and a similar mower. The only difference is that our township's tractor is still NH blue, while the adjacent township's NH tractor is an ugly yellow color so it matches their other maintenance equipment.

The adjacent township was out cutting on one of the roads I travel to and from work, so I knew they were out and about. My wife and I had an errand to run, so I took the road where I knew we'd pass this tractor. As we approached the tractor, but before we could see it, I said,

"There's a tractor and a mower up here that I'd really like to get."

{The tractor and mower appear on my wife's side of our car.}

"What the heck would you want that for?"

"Cutting the edges of the ditch in front of our property."

"Where would you keep it."

"We'd have to build another barn."

Silence.

I just saw a New Holland with the same set up on I-75 a few weeks back ! Man are those things nice. It was cutting the brush on the other side of a guard rail. I wish they would bring that to camp for a DAY /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'd have a few miles of new trail in no time. Great Photos . Dave
