Now you are getting older - what don't you do?

I don't ride horses [which I really miss] and I don't ice skate. Its a simple matter that I don't fall as lightly as I used to.

I also don't put up with nonsense -- especially from relatives. Pressure to conform doesn't work with me anymore.

At 67 years, I snow ski 4 days a week (rescue patrol) On Fridays, I ice skate an hour or so indoors.

I'm trying to get over my fear of falling, little by little.

I don't like going up on the roof much anymore, and I don't take kindly to BS. ;-)

I plan to die young..... late in life.

Nice! Skiing kills my knees but I still go a couple times a year although at a slower pace now.

I like how you plan to die young, late in life. Sounds like your on the right path to that.

I don't leap into things at 74 like I used to. Learning to work smarter took awhile, but I'm getting better at it. The tractor lets me do things that would be impossible or much more difficult. I cut & hauled home a cord & a half of firewood over 3 days. Boy would that have been a lot more work without the Kubota.

At 77, I can't believe how much stronger gravity has become, and why aren't the birds walking everywhere?

Turned 80 last November.
Actually re covered my roof 2 years ago despite my MD warning that a fall could land me in ER.
He said bones could heal but the C-dificile would do U in.

Mom made it to 98 and Dad to 87, LOL I plan to do 100 and so far so good!
An uncle went to 102.

OK, aches and pains (mostly self deserved) but other than slower I still do just about whatever I want.
My main problem is self caused, COPD due mainly to smoking it is presumed.
I say presumed as mother was a light smoker and stopped in her late 40's but also had COPD so I wonder if it is also in the genes.

Hard to take is losing old friends one after the other, however oddly enough my best man and ushers (all my age) are still with us AND still married to the same wives.
Guess we we are of a rapidly diminishing generation.
Life is still good!

To answer the question posed, I take it easy. No more sports outside of snowboarding (risk/reward) I've walked my last steep roof etc..

I'm 52 and doing well with no health issues.

I have noticed some weakness with my shoulders and knees, range of motion issues, perhaps is how to put it.

For instance putting on socks and shoes while standing. Not possible sometimes  Picking up something off the ground without making a noise.

After a brief pause (8 years :D ) I have joined a gym, and man it feels great to be back.

I do about 10 minutes of Eastern stretching* at home a few times a week to deal with muscle soreness and it has been perfect.

I use one of these to adjust my back and neck walmart back roller - Google Search

* Yoga :eek:

Went water skiing about 10 yrs ago for the first time in about 10 yrs. I got up on one and skied like I used to. The next few days nearly killed me. Getting a boat this spring, but pretty sure my skiing days are over. Turned 65 last summer. Also, after refereeing high school football for 25 yrs, decided to give that up. I get a year older, kids are always 17 or so.

Seems I don't do as much stuff requiring visual accuity.

I was thinking again of all the people I have known that are gone, some long gone. Man that list keeps getting longer. Even not friends, like celebrities. People that were part of your reality and now gone. If you realize how quickly time goes, maybe the question should be, what ARE you going to DO in the time you have left.

I did rather well until about age 70 when I came down with afib and then congestive heart failure. Those slowed me down. Just have to work smarter. Don't last near as long.

Now with neurological problems with my feet, it hurts to walk and is like I'm dragging a 200# guy who's hanging onto my shins with his hands. I call him Godfrey. This is about the biggest problem that saps me.
