Oil change filters & oil 2538

Hey guys I'm going to do a on oil change on my 2538, what does everyone recommend for oil filters and oil I like to switch over to a full synthetic oil, that should be fine corect, also they don't know how much oil it will use and any filters part numbers, thanks

I get my filters at the dealer its not that much more , And they have them all . Oil at wally world any top brand mobil , shell

Check your operator's manual for weight and quantity. I use full synthetic in all my engines.

you will need to go with 5w40 if you go synthetic iv never herd of anyone doing it around here since not needed but could come in handy up north... I doubt cj5 10w30 would give enough protection


I use delo 5w40 in my 6.7 ford.

You should be able to go on any large dealers website and pull up a quick reference for the filters

I use Rotella 10w-40 oil for diesel engines in 2538, with a Wix oil filter # 51324.
I do not use synthetic, as I change the oil & filter every 100 hours.
Buy the filters on Amazon, and the oil @ TS.

Alright guys thanks, yeah maybe i dont need to use a synthetic oil, I guess it's just habit since I use it in all my vehicles, every 100 hrs for oil and hydraulic oil at 150hrs sound right, I'm at 85 hrs right now

I have the 1538. The engine is every year or 100 hrs and the hydraulic fluid is every 300 on my machine. Dick and I have done a filter list for the 15xx and posted it on TBN. I believe the two models use the same engine.

I ran shell rotella full synthetic 5w-30. It gets cold here.

Most should have a 50 hour break in service for the engine oil

That's a lot of unnecessary oil changing.
