ok im not gonna get a deere oil filter for 10$+ and the 820 isnt near so i could see any oil filter #'s. Does anybody know what oil filter will fit a 3 cyl diesel 820 deere? any aftermarket brand will do i can cross it over to any brand if i have a filter # other than jd's. Thanks

Wix always has the best site IMO for looking up equipment filters.
Once you have the more common wix number, it is easier to convert to all the other makers of filters.
So try this WIX Filters : Filter Look-Up

cool so now im off to the parts store and then load up and head out to install the new seals on the inj. pump shaft and the pump. And hope this stops the fuel in the oil problem. then an oil change and new filters and see what we get

Good luck with it, I am out of state so I couldn't help with the filter numbers. I have used a NAPA filter on occasion and the store has crossed the numbers over without issue including the fuel filters.

Since the post is about a month old, I would assume he has already changed the filters.
And just because he doesn't use a JD filter doesnt meant he is going to have engine trouble. NAPA, WIX, hastings, baldwin, etc probabally all make a filter far superior to a JD filter, If JD isn't having one of them make their filter.
JD does not make their own filters. They have someone else do it and just put their lable on it. So why pay the markup?????
I am uncertain who makes the Deere filters. It is certainly not Deere. I have seen the engine tests. For severe duty, the Deere filters are superior. I would use napa or wix in my truck, but not my tractor. There's a fine line between thrifty and cheap.

According to your info Baldwin # BT259 . I have been a Baldwin dealer for 15 years . My opinion stay with a name brand or o.e.m. don't let anyone sell you "will fit ,it screws on " I hope I helped you , good luck .
Old post, old rant. Althought I don't really believe that any major mfg's are just putting a label on filters. They will give a set of specs to a filter mfg and have them build or use existing filters depending on that list of requirements. Probably a moot point considering the tractor and the filter # have both been around for many many years.
