what is the difference between the 1400 and the 1500 series of MF tractors?

The 1500 series is newer. I own a 1533. I have never seen a 1400 series close up. I think the engines are pretty well the same, Iseki in both models. I do know they have a different hood design, both series lift up and side panels remove, cosmetics are the main difference. M/F designed new FELs for the 1500 series also. You can get the specs and a brochure on each at Massey Ferguson (MF) tractors, combine harvesters, balers, mowers, AGTVs, tractor. Best I saw lots of specs are the same as far as HP on each model, slight differences on pto. Fuel tanks are also bigger on 1500s.

I know mark4jesus and JerryG have 1400s, hopefully they'll see this thread.

I did a post about the difference between them some where on here a while back, but except for the engine they are quite different.

I have a 1433v. I have only touched a 1528 at a dealer last year. I do know shift lever is in different spot, the side as opposed to the center deck. Like CDsdad mentioned, you can see the brochures for both series on MF's web site. If you are looking at buying one of the two, then I suggest looking at them and comparing the differences and decide which you like best. I bought mine slightly used (140 hours), so was able to save a lot of money over buying new.
