So after talking to Onan Tech support they told me how to trace the Pulse hose line. It was a bear to do and I never got to the end of it. I did use my Vacuum/Pressure gauge and it did not register any amount of V/P. As a test I used an electric fuel pump top see if I could get any flow. Nothing of any quantity came out of the supply line. To check for blockage of the supply line I tried blowing air with my compressor into the tank. The owner came to my home and I had him look inside the tank to see bubbles. None appeared! Well this indicated the line was totally blocked. Tracing the line back to the tank and there was a shut OFF valve. To my surprise the owner stated he had moved the tractor to his fathers house and during transport turned OFF the gas supply.
Reinstalling the fuel pump and all the tubing a test was made. After about 10 seconds of cranking the fuel filter filled with fuel and the engine ran perfectly. The red on his face was as deep as the color of the tractor.
Another half hour of reinstallation of all the parts removed and the owner had his tractor back.
Of note, the Onan tech support suggested I check compression to see if one cylinder might not be operating. This test produced 100 PSI in each cylinder so this information was encouraging. Overall the only fault I found was a large deposit of oil residue in the Air Filter assembly. Since this is an old engine/tractor, it is very possible it has some blow by from the valves or crank case. A frequent check on oil level was recommended.
Lesson learned, check the easy stuff first!
