One week until my new L4240 shows up

Hi guys, you may remember my sizing-related thread here. After a month of serious pondering and some deep discussion with my awesome wife, I finally pulled the trigger last Friday on a new L4240 from Issaquah Honda Kubota.

Basic specs are: L4240 + FEL (standard QA bucket) + pallet forks + rear-work-lights + top-and-tilt + triple rear remotes (two to accomodate TNT, one for insurance) + rear scraper + tiller + boxblade. The dealer will be welding some hooks on top of the bucket.

I also ordered the Caroni 73" flail mower from Agrisupply, it should be delivered a day or two before the tractor. I hope the Caroni lives up to its forum reviews; if so it will be a great deal compared to the landpride flail (1/2 the cost even if you include shipping).

Delivery is scheduled for 2pm this coming Wednesday. It will be a happy day. I know, I know - pics or it didn't happen.

Congratulations on your new tractor, the 4240 should serve you well. I don't know anything about the Caroni flail mower, but we have two Caroni RFMs that have been extremel dependable under heavy use.

Nice choice,I have about 520hrs on my L4240 HSTC,the 854 loader is a beast;fill your tires or add ballast.

I've got the same tractor (no cab) bought new in 2007. Two rear remotes routed to the front for my grapple. Same loader of course. I think about 280 hours on it to date. Not a problem yet with it. Last year I did add two sets of wheel weights since I'm not big on loaded tires. It's been used with grapple to clean up a bunch of acreage (80) of dead and down pinon pine beetle kill.

Also, check the trans and especially axle oil after a few hours and I'll bet you need to add some. Seems to be a Kubota thing. It'll check OK now but need some after a little use.

Congratulations!!!
I to just received my new L4240HST-3 from IHK. I have been renting there L4330 with 6' brush hog for a week at a time for the last 5 or 6 years. Took advantage of Kubotas 0% financing. The 4240 IMO has a much easier time cutting the tall field grass we have this time of year vs the 4330. 11 hours on it now and love it!
