Open carry / firearm handy

I guess you aren't kidding. Not only no, but H*LL NO. I HAVE NEVER wanted or needed a firearm, of any type, while operating my tractor.

About a year ago we had some drugstore cowboy walking around our little town with a six-shooter strapped on. Everybody was talking/laughing about this crazy yahoo and his gun. Finally, I guess the sherrif told him to either take it off or get out of town. What a joke.

All I can say is that the anti-gun folks think we have a gun problem, what we really have is a criminal problem.

I dont have a gun problem. See gun I like, buy gun, live on Mayo sandwiches for a month.. repeat. No problem

I have never needed a jet airplane but there are those who do. Should I have a right to block their owning a jet airplane? I hope not. Do I like the noise of the jet airplane over my house, nope. Am I concerned what would happen it if hit my house, yep. Again I have no need for a jet airplane and not only that have no ability or concept of how to operate one. So I would be dangerous if I bought it and went to show off how I could fly it.

For anyone who can not see any good in a gun or who opposes the ability to carry until you go through the training and do carry you may never understand how you attention and mindset will change. I find when not carrying I know there is little I can do about a bad situation and there fore do not watch for them the same. However when I am carrying I find I am high alert and it my just be my carrying paying attention to your situation that saves your life. If a person thinks guns are all bad why would they call the police or the military?
I have never "needed" a gun on a tractor but sure wanted one when a big buck walked with in rock range of me. I have carried when working a certain field we have that is isolated. It does give you a comfort margin.

Been there, done that! (course my Mayo sandwiches are a little higher class because my Bride loves to cook, lol!

... You are not buying enough guns if you can afford the mayo.! LOL.
...I do the same thing, will set aside some money every week, and keep an eye out for sales, or something I have to have, and then go buy it.. Safe says it holds 72, and it is not big enough

I am just curious why you would not want people to be trained before they can carry a gun? I was surprised to find out I did not need to go to a gun safety course before getting a carry permit.

Usually it's the anti-gun folks that scream the loudest. In this thread it's the pro-gun folks. Amusingly interesting.
