Greetings.

After several months of lurking , I have finally registered.

This week I will be ordering a new MX5100HST.

I think I have the options I want all figured out. But let me run it past the experts to see what I missed and should add.

Here is the order:

MX5100HST with LA844 Loader
R-4 Industrial Tires
Hydraulic Top & Tilt
Dual Auxiliary Remotes - Required for Top N Tilt operation
72" HD Round Back Skidsteer Bucket
Water in Rear Tires(I am in Central Texas)

Should I get these other factory options:
Grill guard
Swinging drawbar kit
Drawbar clevis
Rear work light
Anything else?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Cruise control is standard on the MXs. Congrats on the new machine, and welcome aboard. Grill guard for sure and a bucket level indicator unless you are gonna build one. Try to get the HD round back bucket thrown in. Also, get some ssqa pallet forks if you can.

Skid Steer Quick Attach (SSQA). As well as 3rd function to control hydraulics on FEL. If not 3rd function at least an extra set of rear remotes. Nice selection on the MX5100, I just about never hear of complaints on those.

I'm awaiting delivery of mine this week. Congratulations on your purchase. I wish I would have gotten the rear remotes now, but I can add those later. I did get the third function valve up front at least. Definitely get the grille guard (got mine thrown in free).

Should I get these other factory options:
Grill guard yes
Swinging drawbar kit yes
Drawbar clevis no, too expensive, buy it local
Rear work light Up to you.. expensive from factory, cheaper 3rd party if you are handy with install.
Anything else? SSQA, 3rd function, or do it yourself later for grapple, depending on how handy you are. Sunshade is nice.

The L2296, 72", Heavy Duty Round-Back Bucket comes with SSQA standard.

You may want weld on 5/16" chain grab hooks on the bucket. L2296 bucket is too thick to use bolt-on chain grab hooks.

I got the same tractor this winter and am pleased with it.

I didn't get the 3rd rear remote, but the dealer's price was the same if I brought it in later and since I was feeling cheap I didn't get it.
I got the same bucket, but found that the bolt-on cutting edge was optional. ($200)

I did get a 3rd function remote for the front (but ran out of money before buying myself a grapple). However I found the
install somewhat awkward. There isn't an official 3rd function so the dealer used a kit and installed the valve to the
right of the rest of the loader valves. So the hydraulic lines stuck out and are more exposed than the ones for the loader.

The control is a thumb button which is nice, but it seems the valve could have been put inside the loader mount points to
be more protected. Probably the dealer isn't allow to tap new screws or weld.

This tractor is also on the light side so you really want filled tires. I paid $300 to get my rears filled with rimguard. (The dealer started at $500 for that option)

I also have a set of large chains buried under all that mud. ;-)

I haven't gotten the grill guard yet, but if I do I will take it to the local welder dude and have him add a mesh grill to get out branches.
I miss the fact that I could crash my old Ford into deep brush and not worry about hurting anything. The guard won't change that
but it might help when I forget. ;-)

The other option I am considering for the future is a sun canopy with some added lights.

As in so many things, it depends on your budget. I "think" when I get my L5740 back from the dealer this week or next, I will finally have it the way I want/need it.

Heavy duty bucket with bolt on cutting edge and weld on grab hooks.
Third function and grapple
Three rear remotes
Top and Tilt
Filled tires
400 pounds of wheel weights
Swinging draw bar
Work lights
Grille guard with home made enhancement.

I have a cab, but if I didn't I would have a canopy.
As James said, buy the clevis locally.

Congrats, we love our MX5100. Occasionally with the loader you will want to creep up VERY CLOSE to something, like to the back of a truck to fork out something that's barely within reach. The grill guard is worth it for the peace of mind even if you are extremely careful, sh$t happens. Get a 3rd rear remote, there are some things you can't do with top-n-tilt, such as angle a blade. (I got 2 rear remotes, never imagined that I would need a 3rd, but I do.) And most importantly, get the SS Quick Attach. Owning pallet forks has changed my life. (Ok, that's a stretch, but only a little...) As others have mentioned, if any use for a grapple, get the 3rd function remote up front.

I got the rear work light, it was $85, but have only used it once or twice in 2 years.
