Origin of green flys in house?

last night we came in later than usual, the AC was off..Much to our surprise we had over 25-30 green and black Flies all over the ceiling of the hallway?? It took over 30 min with swats to get all but a couple of them..Any good Ideas on why they are there? I guess they hatched from something? we did not notice any new odors? This is the first time for us?

Could be from a dead mouse or something, maybe even the garbage in the house?

A dead animal or garbage might attract flies, but where did they originate?

This reminded me of a motel in which we stayed one night in Arkansas many years ago. When we went into the room, we found it full of mosquitos even though it was all closed up. At that time I had a can of OFF in the car, so I went and got it and sprayed under the bed. And we swatted mosquitos on the walls and furniture with a folded magazine until we thought we got them all, and I guess we did. But then we opened a drawer of the dresser and there was a genuine flyswatter.:laughing: I guess they expected people to find mosquitos, but they should have left the flyswatter out in sight.:laughing:

Those are ZoZo flies ..... They find BS.....Now you may not think your full of it but you can't fool a ZoZo fly
