Nearly lost the Olympia house when the tenants boys had a log roll out of the stove and catch the carpet and wood floor below on fire.

Many things I had thought could never happen I have seen managing rentals for 35 years and often fire related like piling laundry against the water heater or using flue pipes to hang clothes.

Renters with kids feeding the wood stove would be a bad, bad combination.

Wood stoves are like guns. Both are perfectly safe in the right hands but deadly in the wrong hands.

Yep and unsupervised after school and during school breaks...lots a of damage... like splitting wood on my tiled front entry porch... It took two years but collected on danage

When my oldest sibling graduated from 8th grade in 1964 from a very white, very affluent catholic grade school, 4 girls in that class were pregnant. Resentment of sex ed has little to do with race or economics and more to do with religious beliefs and taboo.

Young girls have been getting pregnant since the species started. Always exceptions Moss. The new standard for 4th grade sex education became predominate in 2012 and it was not so much to do with "resentment" but the opposite. There was resentment however on initiating this program all over the place because of what was happening in certain hot spots.

Its like Maine (or any other rural area) having the same auto exhaust quality standards of California because of Los Angeles.

Ha, ask me about renters.
I rented 2 properties for 12 years.
Fortunately I always took a 'security deposit' which was permitted as I only rented on a seasonal basis and exempt from many laws.
Also here you can only rent for more than 3 months otherwise you need to register as a B&B and charge taxes.

Had some that left garbage in pails, food in fridge and clean up consisted in sweeping trash under the rugs.
On the other hand I also had many 'sweetheart' renters, some leaving cleaner than when they came.
Even had one that washed all the windows prior to leaving.

Must admit that in the combined 24 yrs I only deducted cleaning fees from only 2 renters, and oddly enough both occasions were 'professional' folks.

Once talked to a professional cleaner. Said of all the places he cleaned, the satalite Police Station was the worst.

Well my EPA Certified CAT stove was refusing to burn, or at least refusing to at anything above what amounted to shut off combustion air. I noticed it was not putting out much heat the last few nights but our weather moderated so I was not too worried. This morning I had a heck of a time getting much heat out of it and noticed pretty quickly that the wood burned well when the CAT bypass was open, but not with the fumes going through the CAT. So I stopped feeding it and let it cool down. Sure enough, the CAT was plugged. For those that are lucky enough not to have to have an EPA stove by code, the CATs are a cartridge that the fumes go through that generates more heat as the byproducts combust on it. The tree (unsure of species) I am burning now is not CAT friendly apparently. I typically run all season without plugging and a vacuum cleans it up. Not this year. So I am leaving it out until I get this tree burned up. Before and after pictures with a basic vacuum job.
