MF-230
Has anyone tried one of these PEH on a Massey Ferguson MF-230 diesel? It says it will work on lift arms from 2?3 1/4? Not sure where this measurement is taken but my old MF might be a bit shy of the 2 needed. I think the 230-245 are the same but not 100% on that. Anybody know for sure or have put one on one of the oldies. Thanks

I think the dimensions given are to ensure your lift arms will fit into the Quick Hitch. You need to determine whether you need a Class 1 or Class 2. Spacers are included with the Quick Hitch to adapt it to different height lift arms. The hitch includes bolts to adjust side to side angle. Don't use them. I used set screws and the included lock nuts. If you prefer to use bolts replace the originals with eight line bolts. The included ones tend to mushroom from pressure and can be difficult to remove later should you choose.

My concern is the 4 adjustment bolts either the 2 upper or 2 lower depending upon where exactly on the lift arm I place the Quick Hitch. Even when I use the thickest spacer there is still lots of top to bottom play.

The spacers are not to remove top to bottom play. They are to level the Quick Hitch relative to the arm. When the arm is level the Quick Hitch should be level. The eight bolts are for lateral adjustment so when the arms are spread the correct amount the Quick Hitch will slide smoothly into place on the implement. If properly adjusted you can connect the implement before leaving the seat of your tractor to latch the Quick Hitch and connect the PTO and top link.

I don't see any reason it wouldn't fit. I put mine on my L3940. When I sold the tractor, I kept the Pat's and put it on my B series. It comes with spacers to fit most any arms. I love mine.

i'm not sure my point is being understood or i'm not understanding the responses. I do have the proper Pat's Easy Hitch which is Cat 1. I think the best thing for me to do is figure out how to post pictures on this forum and see what happens. Thanks to All!

I think I've got it.

If I align things up as you can see the lower adjustment nut will not even touch the lift arm. If I hold the Pat's Easy Hitch up a little higher on the lift arm neither the top adjustment bolts nor the bottom adjustment bolts are making really good contact or so it appears to me.

Notice in the picture the height (top to bottom) of my lift arm. which is considerably less than 2"

The opening of the Pats Easy hitch is nearly 4"

I emailed Pats Easy Hitch Sunday night or Monday morning but haven't gotten a response. I think I'll try again tomorrow by phone.

I think it will work fine if you are able to shim the bottom, then the sides with blocks to take up the space.

What I understand you to be saying is that you need to take up around 2" of space and neither of the included shims is even close to thick enough. Hopefully someone who's mounted the hitch on a MF 230 will respond.
Good luck,
Stuck

Well, this project has taken an ugly turn. I don't think a shim will do the job. You may need to increase the height of the side pieces. If you can contact Pat's by phone you will probably get better results than by email.
