Kubota 2502H, HSI Pinnacle grapple, LP 48" forks, LP 60" BB, KK tiller 60", KK middle buster, Pat's QH
So I needed a trailer to haul my 2502 around on. I purchased a used PJ 20' dovetail with 5200# axles. Just curious, what all ways have you fellers found that you can make money off a trailer? Trailer1.jpg

Rent it to people who want to use it. Use it to haul equipment to jobs. Use it to haul peoples stuff around.

How to make money with a trailer? Sell it. :D Pretty tough to make money with it. You could hotshot with it but I think that’s a cut throat business. Nice looking trailer!

Thanks! I was wondering if there was any money hauling for people, even maybe just local stuff. I recently started up a landscaping business that I am working evenings and weekends. Trying to get back to full time self employment again and looking at every possible avenue.

Probably the only way to get steady income is if there is some local business that needs something hauled on a regular basis that your trailer is a good size for. A machinery manufacturer for example.

Kids school uses mine for a stage. Church and other groups use it for parade floats. Someone always needs something hauled. I won't hook it up for less the $75.00. Get milage money for the trailer and the truck. Don't make money. but then I am not spending all my time moving stuff for friends. Pizza and beer does not get it to move.
Friends who need my tractor for "little job, just a few minutes". This usually stops them. $75.00 for the trailer, $65.00 to load at the shop and again to unload at their job, $295.00 for the tractor and $125.00 per hour for the operator, $1.75 per mile for the truck and $1.25 mile for the trailer, then load and unload fee when job is done.
Try it, maybe make a few bucks if the insurance is not too much.

I've been good at using my trailer to spend lots of money!!!

I'd be careful of doing commercial hauling unless you get at least insurance for the small business.

One side hustle I know happens to some extent is flipping. For example, watch your local auctions for items that sell below market value, snag them, perhaps do some cleaning or maintenance, then resell on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and E-Bay.

Do your research. There is no guarantee if you purchase an item at public auction that you'll be able to resell for a profit.

You will not make any money with the trailer. Everybody thinks you can do it for fuel money if that. Don't lend it out either because when you need it they will tell you that they need at the same time. I don't let my 14,000 lb trailer go without me and my pickup. A $100 minimum for twenty mile haul and $1.50 per mile after that.
I really don't want to haul any thing for other people. You have just to much time involved with it to come out. If you rent the trailer out, the renter will wreck a 10,000 lb trailer for you.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I had considered most of these options and was just posting to hear of maybe things I hadn't thought of and there were a few. I have business insurance and will be adding the trailer onto it. I definitely don't plan to loan the trailer out other than to my brother in law and nephews.

For that price I would ask you to haul my TO35 home this summer. I expect it will cost me $5-600 for 200 miles, unless I buy a trailer.
