Bobcat CT335 with cab
I was asked in another thread to post some pictures of my CT335 with cab. I know when I was considering purchasing this tractor it was very hard to find any pictures of a CT335 with a cab.
Having plowed snow and snow blowed it on a tractor without a cab I new I wanted a cab on the next tractor I purchased. Was initialing thinking of the CT445 but the overall height of the tractor would not allow me to get it though our 8ft garage doors, the CT335 with cab would. Cab is very comfortable, good visibility, sound level is reasonable, easy to heat until you get down to -28c then you notice that the floor area starts getting cold. Controls are well positioned, make sure you get the rear wiper assembly if you are using a rear mounted snow-blower.
CT335 is adequate for snow conditions we have here (light, dry snow) but I think it would be underpowered pushing the 84" snow blade that I have mounted if you were dealing with wet, heavy snow. The other thing that caught me by surprise was switch on the seat that prevents the tractor from starting unless you're sitting down. I'm not a heavy person but at -25c or colder the seat is so stiff that when I sit down the switch won't engage (I've tried adjusting the weight control). So at cold temperatures I have to bounce up and down on the seat several times to get the switch to engage. My wife sure gave me some weird looks the first time she saw me do this.

Thank you sir!

I am in the market for a B3030 sized Cabbed HST tractor for my wife for light snowblowing and flail mowing duties.

The CT335 was recommended by an associate; told me to give it a look but I have been unable to find any on a dealers lot.

(For that matter I have not been able to find any 3030's either.)

In a perfect world I get to see them side-by-side.

I can of course review specs, but 6 to 12 inches one way or the other is hard to quantify in real-world size impressions.

Thank you again.

Usually there is a snow-blower on the back of tractor, but right now I have to scrap some built up snow away. Its nice to have the HST when snow-blowing and with the FEL mounted snow blade you can push the snow up into some pretty large piles, once you get familiar with the controls. However not particularly fond of the float control on the FEL. I'm comparing it to the Kubotas I owned and I would say their joy stick control is better than Bobcat. I also installed both the rear and front auxillary hydraulics at time of purchase and I'm glad I did. After looking at the installation manual for them it would have been a pain installing them myself with the cab on the tractor.
Also the outside rear control for the 3pt hitch is something every tractor should have especially if you have a cab on it. Makes it a lot easier hooking up implements to your 3pt hitch.

Mr. Foster,

Glad to see you have some additional experience with Kubotas. I would be interested in you comparison of overall build quality and any other observations.

Also, can you give a comparison of the general size difference between the CT335 and a B3030?

I only have experience with the Kubota L and Grand L series tractors which I thought were a great tractor. Going with Bobcat was largely a matter of cost. Getting the CT335 configured the way I wanted, compared to a similar size Kubota ended up being a $8000 price difference.
Bobcat is a heavier tractor, has things that come standard on it, but are considered options on other tractors. Local dealer has been good to work with.
Things I don't like are the front exposed hydraulic steering arms and some of the exposed hydraulic lines under the floor that go to the FEL. This is my first HST tractor, so far really like using the HST but I'm still a bit concerned what the overall cost of maintaining this drive system is going to be.
Resale value of Kubotas is good, Bobcat is yet to be seen.

If I start looking for a wife Think Im going to Idaho the ones here unless you go down to the populated areas some not all are really hard to pick out from the some other things on the farm

Like the pics wish I had a cab in summer:drool:
Think you made great choice:thumbsup:
My neighbor has one of those Orange Grand series things I had him over helping me with mine the first time I hooked rotarycutter to it just to make sure I was not going to chop my head off first time and everthing. He liked it was impressed with the features it had on the 3point standard, sitting in seat he liked how everything was laid on dash board said it had better feild of veiw than his so I was happy of course he did not run out and buy one his was 2yrs old at time but I think he will look when he does
I felt the same way afoster when I was looking at the different brands and Bobcat was new to the Compact Tractor scene but at the time that price difference was just too much:)Like you almost everybody charged extra for everything also not even offering some of the standard stuff that came with the Bobcat not only that but walking into the showrooms I was just not comfortable guess it might of been that I was not a NativeTexan, a relative or close friend of the famly so getting a price was verbal with no breakdown of what anything cost. So I started looking online and going to auctions (big mistake they just ship the stuff here back and forth till it rusts apart) then I found this site and saw what people were buying new Bob's for so I got the cash together and went to nearest dealer after checking online for a few prices walked in door was asked how I could be helped told the receptionist what I was looking for so she offered me coffee and got a guy talked to the saleman said I was on way to buy a tractor and wanted to find out about the Bobcat ones around 30hp and what I wanted it for said I was heading to Kubota next he gave me a price and what came with it bargained a little showed him the cash and the bids from the other dealers settled on a price which was somewhere around 7K less than the L2800 Kubota without the extras Then came the long wait had to wait till Dec ordered in end of June. But I just asked at some local tractor yard while looking at BB's about a old little Kioti L2513? guess mid 80's model something like that maybe 25hp more like 20hp?(kinda same size as CT122)might of been smaller though with a loader, gear drive, 1300hrs and rusty as H#%% he would take 6800cash today for it but wanted 7K. I also called on others in past before I brought new and they were sold So if Bobcat can get anywhere near a what Kioti brings used I think were allright dont think it will match the green and orange but we did not pay for the color. Think mostly depends on Economy and how peoples pocketbooks feel when your selling one thing getting finacing in future will be harder so a lot of people will be forced to buy used.
Dont know about HST servicing but I know in a P/U a standard is a few $100bills to do a clutch but auto is serviced like every 30k at a $80 a shot so its a wash if you do a clutch at 150K and cost $400 and a auto gets serviced flushed then pan drop 2-3time to clean filter. But I know it is a lot nicer to drive in traffic like HST doing work than a standard. How much is a clutch job on a gear tractor anyway?

Agreed, every tractor should come with this feature. The Bobcat/Kioti 3 pt. is user friendly. It may be the ticket to your wife switching her own implements.
