Hope that works for keeping the blade from digging dirt.
Such heavy blade will make it difficult, I'm thinking. Wondering why so heavy duty?

With that much weight, I think spring loaded tires are gonna be needed to hold that blade up,,,

That looks like a standard Fisher heavy duty trip edge pickup plow.
They were made to stand up to a pickup plowing at 15 to 30 mph and usually survive the abuse they got.

After using a trip blade for a couple of winters, I sure wish my plow was a trip edge. Absolutely hate it when the blade hammers back up after being tripped. I like the skis too. Seen some others using wheels and that might be better (certainly if using it on pavement). However you would have to buy some heavy duty wheels unless you happened to have some laying around. Scrap steel is much easier to find at my place.

I took a suggestion from here (I don't know who did it first) and attached a piece of angle iron to the cutting edge of my plow.
I can now plow even grassy areas without tearing up anything.
Doesn't pick up & relocate gravel either.
For that plow, I would recommend at least 3" angle.

Got any pictures and how did you attach it to the cutting edge? Stitch welds?

Mt driveway is all gravel and not even from side to side. In some places it is higher in the center (picture wheel paths on either side) and the plow tends to pick up gravel, unless the ground is well frozen. In ohter areas the driveway has full cross fall, sometimes to the right and sometimes to the left. The plow has a built in side to side float, which helps.

Does this situation seem like a fit for the angle iron method?

Not good pictures.
Not being sure the idea would work, I used what I had available.
A section of bed frame.
Bolted to the cutting edge of a 5' ATV plow I have on my tractor.

After seeing how GOOD this worked, I tried attaching some 3" to my york rake and it also works GREAT.

Yes, your drive sounds like it would benefit from the angle iron.
This does NOT scrape down to bare earth, it slides over the ground without digging in.
Later in the season when the ground freezes, you can take it off to get a better job if you want.

In front of my CK2610HST is a 450' driveway going downhill at 19%. Behind it is a 7' wide Everything Attachments 6-way Scrape blade. Those are OFA-8 chains on the loaded rear tires. IMG_20191203_152545.jpg
