Woods9000 on my L3710. There's a pinhole leak on one of the lines. Its one of the longest lines on the setup too. No idea how the pinhole got there, but its away from all mounting surfaces, bends, couplings, or anything. Right on the "straightaway" on the line. Easy access, right there.

Is there a clamp, sleeve, or something else that would hold up? Sure, I can replace the entire line, but the fact its dead nuts on a straight portion of the line and wide open access, makes me wonder if there is something else that can be done before I rip the whole thing out.

Thanks.

There is a "Hosepatch", but its more for emergency use until you can go get a new hose, I remember coming across this one a few months ago and filed it away...
Not cheap but its reusable. Someone may know of a cheaper one time use product.

NOTE: there are different sizes - this link takes you right to the 1/4" size....

Ah, that's sort of the thing I had in mind. For $150, I'll replace the entire line.

Just the one time the issue is right there, easy access, in plain sight view that I was hoping for a fix.

That's a good option, or remove the hose and take it to shop for a splice fitting. Clamping the outside of the hose is not likely to seal enough to keep the fluid under pressure from migration along the wire and then rupturing the outer jacket again.

Is this a hose or a steel line? I think some are confused on that. Steel line, if the leak is at all accessible, I would probably try just brazing up the hole. Have done that many many times and most are still out there running. Unless the hole is on the bottom, I wouldn't bother taking it off. I've brazed lines with oil inside before without issue. Just open up a fitting one end and drain the line down a little so it's not full right where you're working. It will smoke a little but no harm will come from it.

Another option for probably less than 1/2 of buying it all preassembled would be buy a hose assembly of the proper length with two NPT ends on it . Then buy the end fittings to thread on that match your original end fittings. Depending on the situation it’s usually easier to install if you buy the hose assembly with one end NPT Swivel.
Last one I bought was actually a Gates brand hose assembly from a local Family Farm and home. I’ve had good luck with these . Another nice thing if the hose ever goes bad you just very easily and inexpensively replace it. Been my experience the hose even the top quality ones end up failing before the end fittings.

Very valid. I had been thinking hose, but after re-reading OPs post wording makes me think its steel... thus rendering amazon splices useless here...

Ah, good point.

Yea, this is a hose. Flexes and stuff.

Those splices, so cut the line before and after the pinhole, then put those ends in then. That may be an option too.
