2 * On the other hand, with the fixed spout you don't get gas on your hands as much as with the flexible spouts that you push down into the can.

1*That's the ticket.
2 * I got tired of that mess especially the cans with the oil mixed in the gas for the weed trimmer and the chain saw.
Went to wall mart and bought 3 of the Blitz ventless spouts for them.
With the vented cans i was always loosing the vent cap on them, No more thanks to the Blitz ventless spouts.

Last summer, my son brought his new boat over to show it off and realized that he had forgot to pick up his gas can. Being a good dad I "loaned" him mine. That was the last I saw of it.

I went to Wal Mart and bought a new can and discovered that there wasn't a vent on the darn thing. Turns out I couldn't find a can that had one. So, my solution was to drill a small hole in the handle (plastic can) and plug it with a golf tee. I added an eye hook to the tee and some small gauge chain so it wouldn't get lost.

Not very high tech, but it works.

Good thinking Pitbull! I had thought of drilling a hole but not of how to plug it. A golf tee sure would do the trick.
Thanks for sharing.

On a post awhile back someone suggested using a rubber valve stem (with the valve removed) that way you have a cap too!

I like the valve stem idea. You could pop it into a hole just like in a rim and would fit tight and have a lid as well.

Thanks for the good idea.

After having and using the BLITZ Spouts there ain't no way I would want to get back into the vented can hassles by drilling a hole in the cans.

I admit I've never used a "BLITZ Spout", not even sure what one is. Exactly what hassle is there with a vented can? air enters through the vent-gas comes out the spout seems pretty hassle-free to me.
