Ford 1210, this and some previous and later models had precombustion chambers. My question is has anyone removed them? After pulling the injectors I noticed in two of three cylinders what looked just like a bead in the chamber loose and just there to move around freely. Imagine the beads some females would use to put their hair in "corn rows" and that's what it looked like. The tractor is blowing alot of black smoke and was just checking injectors when I noticed these things. Manual mentions pulling head and punching them (precombustion chamber) out but also says use a suitable tool to pull them. pretty obvious these "bead" things are screwing up the injection mist and more than likely the cause of the smoke. Nothing in the parts manual indicates where they may have come from or broken off off.

Some pictures would help.

It may help in identifying what the "bead" could be but it was described pretty accurately. The main question is how are the precombustion chambers removed? Head off and punched out or can they be pulled using what tool?

Those little beads could be the broken tips of the glow plugs!

So, has anyone removed the pre-combustion chamber and can it be done with the head on?

Can't help you there!
But I have retrieved the tips of broken glow plugs using bubble gum stuck on the end of a screwdriver or wooden dowel.
