Pressure washer not working

So water into the low side turn the water on a d it will come out the high side. If i start the engine the water stops flowing out of the high side. Any thoughts.

Engine starts great. This worked when i put it in the basement 3 years ago. Havent used it since but tryi g to keep up with the neighbors and all.

Something most likely seized/stuck because pump was inadiquatly lubed before laied up. Solution is dismantle,clean,lub and reassemble. Another possability is pressure regulator backed off and stuck at 0 psi.

Didnt mention if the hose and gun were attached. The pipe on the guns will rust and clog the tips. best to replace the pipe. If the pumps not working go to ebay and get a replacement. usually 70 to 100 bucks. These little pumps are not worth the time and effort to try to repair. setting around the insides corrode and rust away jamming the inside passages. Youll end up spending more time and money and end up with a leaky half working pump.

Tip and gun are clean and free of any debris

Was hoping it was something simple i guess. I dont have the funds to buy a new pump.

Make sure the inlet screen is clear, check the unloader valve to ensure it's not stuck closed. New pumps are $80.

does water come through the wand tip when you have the hose hooked up and engine not running?

is it a steady pencil size stream when you pull the trigger on the wand?

O ring on the outlet check valve behind the soap injector venturi has split or the outlet valve is damaged. I have seen that little O ring on the tip of that plunger valve split and cause the unloader valve to not function killing the engine due to overpressure. Just took one apart yesterday where that tip on the valve was crushed.

Also if that is the issue, you can remove the tip and spring behind the venturi and then put the venturi back in without valve and it will work fine without.

I killed one pressure washer by draining then storing it for a couple of years. The pump corroded.

Got another unit, and looked up several MSDS's for expensive 'pressure washer storage fluid'. One result revealed it is the same as automotive antifreeze. So I use that. No problems since.
