Jd 2520
I am debating between the kubota bx 25 and the jd 2320. The kabota is nice because it comes with a FEL and BH for a good price. The only thing holding me back is the ground clearance and that the bx can not use full size implements.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a price range for a jd 2320 with a FEL,BH, and the 62" MMM.

Some of my questions are:

- How well will this tractor plow snow and mow 2 acres weekly and 5 additional acres once a month.
- Can the tractor handle full size implements like a brush hog
- Is the tractor rugged enough to be used for skidding logs out of the woods
- Any aditional takes on the pros and cons of the BX25 VS. JD2320 would be great.

PS: I live in upstate NY if that helps with price checks.

If you want to do a fair comparison, the BX25 compares to the 2305 however the BX25 basically comes fully equipped with the loader/backhoe where as the 2305 you need to add those. The 2320 would compare to the B2320 however the JD2320 I believe is more nicely equipped but does have a slightly higher price.

The 2320 has these advantages:
- Pedal arrangement (which allows easy use of differential brakes)
- Electric selectable PTO
- Heavier
- Position control for the 3PH
- Better quick detach loader
- Quick detach loader bucket for quick mounting of forks.
- Two seat backhoe arrangement for faster switching between tasks.

The B2320 has these advantages:
- 3 speed hydro.
- Cheaper
- Factory thumb option on backhoe

I have a 2320. I have had larger tractors but none I have enjoyed using more than this machine. The 2320 is a relatively low-powered tractor at 24.1 HP, but you would not know it. It has two speed ranges, with H being a bit tall for heavy work. The machine will move pretty fast in low and I have yet to find anything it cannot do in that range that I have asked. I have owned four X series mowers in my ownership life and I feel the 2320 mows BETTER than they do with the 62d mower. This is high praise. In addition, it is a great snowplowing machine, so far as tractors go. I have an 825 Gator which I use for plowing snow, as it is so much faster. The blade for the 2320 is too small for the machine at 54" but with that size blade one can do legitimate grading. PTO work that is heavy (such as rotary cutting) will tax this machine, but JD has kept the attachment size reasonable to make it work well within its limits. I do not know about log skidding, but these machines have a shortish wheelbase. When I move my 22' utility trailer around on my steep property with mine it can get a little shifty (the trailer weighs about 2500 pounds). If you kept the logs fairly small it would do fine, but bigger logs may put you in a potentially dangerous situation. That said, it pulled my old 60" box blade about as well as my old 3720 did, so it is pretty stout (I bought a 48" for regular use). For pricing, a good rule of thumb is 8-12% off your configured retail price. Occasionally one can get a better deal that that, but I would say that is about average for what I have seen. I try very hard to avoid the "which is better?" question as we each have our opinions about machines and how they fit our specific needs, but I would say having used and reviewed both the Kubota and JD machines closely, the JD is the nicer machine. It takes about two minutes sitting on one and operating it to realize this. The rest is just gravy.

In my opinion the right size implements for a 2320 in general approximation are:

48" for heavy ground engagement like a RRC, 647 tiller, box blade.
=>53" for 200CX bucket
54" QH snowblower
60" for medium ground engagement like a 62" MMM or 60" RFM
72" for light ground engagement like a LR1072 landscape rake
+ iMatch and ballast box of course :)

I agree. Somehow I missed it when it was posted back in January. I purchased a JD 2320 about a month ago, and patiently waiting for it to come in with the anticipation of a kid on Christmas Eve. Reading that was reassuring that I made the right purchase. Counting the minutes until it arrives.

To wrap up the thread I actually bought a john deere 2520 in early feb. Came to 18,800 out the door after rebates and before tax for a 2520, ballast box, 200 cx FEL, and a 62D MMM. Love the tractor and I don't know how I ever got along without it. Can't wait to mow my 7 acres with it this summer.
