Just had my yearly fill of my propane tank. Paid $ 1.509 per gallon, with my 9 cent old geezer discount and owning my tank. Johnson's Propane, Gaylord, Mi. Gets any cheaper, and I will start heating my barn with it. :)

Our house is made up of 3 main areas. Kitchen, living room and dining room..basically all one space, bedrooms another and a room over the garage a separate area all together. We have a propane fireplace in the living room thathasa blower on it. It easily heats the 1200 or so SF that is the kitchen LM DR areas. I. Fact, turning it on is about the first thing I do before sitting down on the couch or turning on the TV. ..just turned it off a few minutes ago because it's 75* in here now..lol. Our furnace is oil ..Fireplace, stove and hot water is propane..I think we use more LP than oil every year.

Ever since I returned my leased tank and bought, I have been able to shop around. Finding APP is best around here... intro price a year ago this time was $1.59/gal, in the spring I paid $1.89 and early last month, $1.99. I'm sure it has jumped a bit with the weather change.

I looked up what I paid in October, $1.57 before discount for paying bill within ten days. I own my tank, but have stayed with the same supplier (Shelby co. Co-op) for 15+ years. If I use another supplier they charge a fee to test your gas line, always seem to have fair pricing so I have stayed with them.
I only fill on the "summer fill program" which tends to be the lowest price of the year. We burn wood, which keeps our yearly propane purchase under 400 gallons. My HVAC is dual fuel (heat pump/high efficiency propane).

Prepaid for 1200 gal at 1.399 from Alpine in Gaylord MI a few months ago. Own my tank. Locks me in for a year at a decent price.

Diggin it,

I pulled that bill out to take another look, bill was $621.25 + tax @ 7% = $664.74 (395.7 gallons) discount is $39.57 if paid within ten days. I paid $625.17, looks like they multiply the number of gallons of propane by 10% to get the discount of $39.57. I'm not getting a 10% discount on the bill, closer to 6%
($621.25 x .0637 = $39.57)
