Thanks for the replies to my earlier post looking for some quick feedback. To everyone that recommended Barlow's, thanks - I talked to Brady and they are part of my consideration now.

Bottom line, I have a few candidates that look like a solid value of condition versus price, a BX22, BX23, and new BX25 (no BX24 in the mix yet, like I need any more to confuse the issue). To help get to the end, I would appreciate any comments on pros and cons to be aware of comparing the BX22, BX23, BX24 and BX25. Especially if there is either a recurrent problem, or notable improvement on something in the generations. Assume all will have standard loader, backhoe and 60" deck.

Thanks in advance.

I have a BX23, 2004 vintage, very happy with it. No issues at all. Have BH,FEL & 54" Mower. The only differences I have seen is the design of the implements have changed and some things went from metal to plastic and back again.

creex - even though I love my BX24, I would suggest you perform a search on "abrupt reverse stopping" issue that the 50 series (BX24) has. This may not be an issue for you but for many of us, it is. The BX22/BX23/BX25 do not have this problem.

Also I think on the bx-22 it will not take standard cat 3pt equip while 23 and up will alibet with some lift height restrictions. My 60" woods blade worked fine bare and with the HF Quik attach goes even higher. Think they call 22 stuff xb or 0-1 or subcat 1.

I've got the BX23... no problems at all except for the air cleaner bracket...

Kubota was nice enough to upgrade my seat for $50 and I like that kind of stepping up to the plate.

They made some changes to the Backhoe and FEL with the 24 from previous models I believe to give more clearance with the BH and visibility / hose protection with the FEL. You also got the plastic hood / fenders and the reverse stop issue.

From the BX 24 to the 25 you get..

The ability to move the FEL at idle.
No abrupt reverse stop
Increased cost and 3 pt hitch became an option.
Metal hood and fenders.

I had a BX23. I had problems with a sticky HST pedal. No amount of gease or lube completely fixed it. I believe this was a common problem for the BX23. The BX24 and BX25 have a higher 3 point hitch which is an advantage in giving more lift height with implements.
