If anyone is interested I'm willing to redesign the PT snowplow using ProE (3d cad) to be a V-plow like the boss plow if some one can provide the pictures and some dimensions of the current plows. My idea is to start with a PT plow or maybe Han's cheap snowplow, cut it in the center and add the needed components. When done I'd post the drawings, BOM, estimated cost, and the group could in a sense conduct the design review on it.

great idea Schultzi! if everything goes right with your design maybe we can make it so it can be both "Straight, V-plow and Angled". that would be one of my dreams come through. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

i see myself with a mini articulated (Boss)plow going down the road /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifBoss plow

Yup Hans it would work like the Boss plows...straight, > , and <.

Thanks for the links. I've started using some of the dimensions off the Steiner Link. Right now, I have to figure out what to use for the hinge, I haven’t found an off-the-shelf steel pipe thick enough yet. I was thinking .5"ID and .75"OD, maybe an 1/8" bigger. I like how Steiner angled the ends of their plow out, it resembles one of the big boys you see on an Oshkosh truck up north.

I ended up finding one from my favorite catalog: McMaster Carr. It was availible in plan steel, 24" sections, .5" pin diameter, and .180" wall thickness
Thanks

Here is a start on the plow itself. Since I don't have one, I made many guesses. I'll probably continue making the plow as it's own assembly, but I still want to make a PT version. Therefore, if anyone can post some close up pics of the backside of their plow that would be great. Right now, I haven't designed that part yet.

So far the specs are:
40deg back angle
30 forward angle
Straight, and left or right 30 deg
