It varies from machine to machine, depending on your pto shaft / stub.. etc. Some 2-speed pto units with swapable shafts ar a little more involved with the gearing.. but then some are pull out/slap back in.
( on an 8n you can park nose down in a ditch, pull 4 bolts and slid ethe whole assy out, pay 100$ and slide a new assy in, and put the bolts back in and never loose a drop of oil.. take you about 5 minutes if you are lucky!.. don't count on your 3910 being that easy.. but should be easier than a 2-speed unit if yours isn't. )
By the way.. RickB is -way- more knowledgeable with the new machines ( read: 1965 and newer ) than I am. Most of my daily hands on work is wit the N and hundred series stuff. Rick can probably rattle off the seal number and tell you the in/out from memory on a newer machine like that.
