I tried (activated) the PTO for the first time on my GC2310 with nothing attached to it. It was never used before and I'm just curious if it makes the right noise. Is doesn't matter if its the 540 or the, hum, the other one (2200, I think). As soon as I engaged the PTO, I can hear a knocking sound similar to the sound of a old Jetta. I know its not an easy question when you don't get to hear it but I would like to know what do you hear (if you can hear anything) when you engaged your PTO on a similar model (preferably a GC2310).

Its a 2008 with 115 hours on it (0.01 hours on PTO), was tried at low RPM (slowest) with 540 and/or 2200 engaged and/or disengaged and slowly increase the trottle = same noise but faster.

It's 1000.:)

When I engage mine (with nothing attached) I can't hear that it is engaged...

I'm thinking it might be a mid-mount PTO that spins faster.

Do you have the hoe still on? The three point is folded behind it. I'd check to be sure both shafts don't have something hitting or lodged against them. My machine had 500 hours before I traded, and never tried the ptos. plowking

Thanks for your replies!

I looked at the other post (Thanks to Dennis) which describes well the noise I hear. Feel better now!

Thanks to TBN :) ,
