Up here in North East Missouri, grass cutting season is over. So with the help of a buddy we:
Filled the tank with fresh gas and put in Stay-bil and a shot of Heet. Ran the engine for five minutes to run the additives into the engine and warm up the oil.
Changed the oil and filter, clean the air cleaner and oiled the filter.
Pulled the mower deck out. Greased the tension pulley on top, boy I wish they had an access hole for that. Turned it over and scrapped the caked on grass down to the metal. Took out the clean-out fittings as they were clogged. Have to get two new ones. Greased the three blade spindles. Checked the blades, they look good for a while longer.
Greased the front wheels and spindles as well as the go pedal.
Pulled he plugs and put a tablespoon of oil in the cylinders and cranked it a few times, replaced the plugs with new ones gapped to .030. Put the plug wires back on.
Finally put her on a trickle charger and patted her hood for a good trouble-free mowing season.
Love this mower because it makes mowing a nice experience. I used to love mowing and running my Mahindra 4110 with a Bush Hog 84 inch finishing mower because I could just drift off and forget about work and such. Now I am retired, what am I going to forget about now?
