Hi All,

Curiosity is getting the better of me. With the 2520 coming up on 8 years old, how are they doing for the most part? We hear the horror stories here but in general, how has yours done? I'm looking at some in the 6-800+ hour range and want know what to expect.

Hi Tom,

I traded my 2007 2305 for a 2011 2520 this spring. They both had about 340 hours on them at the time of trade. I am right around 380 hours on the 2520 now. It starts really well, has plenty of power for ground engage work like plowing and rototilling. When the time comes it will be a beast with the snow too, I'm sure. I will be watching this thread with interest for the "what to watch for" items as my tractor ages.

I only have 400 hrs on my 2520, but I have not had to replace anything other than the battery and a front tire that I cut on a piece of metal.

I do notice that my gas tank is shifting tho, so someday that could get spendy.... It leans forward I think and then the hood doesn't open very well because the gas cap hits the hood as it opens.

I love this tractor and would buy another one tomorrow if it was stolen.

Gas tank problem very common. The fix is easy - search the forum, there are threads on the fix. Temporarily, remove fuel cap when opening and closing hood to prevent damage.

2006 model. 1254 hours. Sagging fuel tank - easy fix.
Left front wheel seal total of three times. 1st two times Dealer fixed under warranty. Third time self fixed. Third time was least expensive due to transportation cost.
Battery suffered sudden death after about 2 1/2 years. Dealer furnished new battery under warranty, well not really, after usage prorated I saved about $12.
No other problems.
Maintenance schedule followed very closely.
Tractor used for mowing. Heavy snow blowing and plowing. Brushhogging with Woods BB60 on some rough and hilly fields. Plus loader work, etc.
Front tires getting close to replacement.
Starts like a champ hot or cold.

All in all happy.
